“What am I going to be asked to do?”

      I know that this year (2017) is going to be a new season in my life and God is going to be asking me to do more…   I am looking forward to an exciting year of challenges and an adventure with my wife.   But the big Question is:  “What am I going to be asked to do?”
          Pastor Shaun shared a verse yesterday that had me thinking about this question:

Luke 19:28-31.  After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.   As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them,   “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.  If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’ ”

     I had to think about Jesus request and if He asked me to do the same thing today:  “Would I go and get the colt?”    It probably would not be to go and get a colt but it could be.   But in Matthew:  the great commission is a request similar to the one that he gave the disciples.  (Preparing for Jesus coming). 

Matthew 28:18-20.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

 
          So Jesus has given me an instruction and I am to be obedient to what he has asked me to do.   I just finished a Men’s Study with Pastor Jason and at the end of each study we would stand up and make this Oath (The Great Commission).   In doing this it is extremely important that I am obedient to the Oath that I have made.   I can see Jesus opening up doors for me do keep my promise and I must be attentive to those opportunities when they come and not fail. 

It is going to be an exciting year.
